Fuad Abubakar Mohammed - Country Manager

Fuad is the Head of Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company (GCMC) UK Ltd. He doubles as the Secretary of the Company and responsible for the day-to-day running of the Company. Until his assumption of office as Head of Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company UK Ltd, he doubled as a Cocoa Trader and also the Head of Crop Forecasting at Cocoa Marketing Company GH. Ltd.

For nearly 15 years, he has performed various responsibilities within Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD)/Cocoa Marketing Company GH. (CMC) from Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, Commodity Trading, Crop Forecasting and Agri-weather Intelligence Analyst. He further possesses strong insights into cocoa marketing policies in West Africa, notably Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Nigeria.

As the Head of GCMC UK Ltd, his responsibilities include economic and market intelligence in consumer economies, commodity trading activities, business development and client risk assessment. He is expected to play a coordinating role in the COCOBOD Annual Cocoa Syndication Loan facility as well as other international trade finance activities.  He will also play a liaison role to clients and banks to ensure prompt release of shipment documents and collection of cocoa sales revenue. The office facilitates an effective relationship with prospective and existing clients, international organisations (International Cocoa Organization, International Coffee Organization and the Federation of Cocoa Commerce) as well as other chocolate companies and research centres globally.

Fuad is passionate about Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) principles and its integration into global cocoa supply chains to achieve sustainable livelihoods for smallholder cocoa farmers in Ghana and West Africa.  He aims to leverage on the prestigious reputation of CMC, as a reliable global supplier of premium quality cocoa, to develop an enhanced reputation that meets the challenges and aspirations of the future.

He is expected to spearhead the promotion of Ghana cocoa beans and products as the preferred choice for the chocolate industry in both developed and emerging markets, through international trade fairs and market expansion programs. Fuad has an academic background in Economics and Statistics (BA Hons) and Economic Development (MSc) as well as practical exposures in Agripreneurship, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis and Agri-Weather Intelligence

Akua Opoku-Kyei - Senior Administrative Executive

Akua is a senior administrative professional of Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company UK Ltd with over 13 years of experience. She is results-driven and ethically oversees the day-to-day administrative work that keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. Akua holds a Degree and an MBA from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana) and Anglia Ruskin University (UK) respectively.

George Kudjo Maxwell Dzanta - Accountant

George is a chartered, certified accountant and registered auditor, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is the managing practitioner with George Dzanta & Associates, a UK firm of chartered certified accountants who are the accountants for Ghana Cocoa Marketing Company UK Limited. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).

George has an entrepreneurial mindset and has over 25 years of experience working with parastatal bodies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

With his understanding of all aspects of business management, combined with his excellent accounting skills, George brings to GCMC UK a wealth of financial, taxation and strategic consultancy experience.

Jamil Asnan – Office Assistant

Jamil is a cherished member of the company. He provides general support in the day-to-day running of the office. Jamil's role include performing maintenance and repairs, assessing the general state of the office and any other duties as assigned.
